| Description (Service) | Provides free social work services to help residents in St Marys and teh surrounding area learn about and access community resources. Brief counselling supports are available virtually by phone and computer as well as in-person. Conversations are private and confidential. Provides advocacy services and referrals to community partners for mental health, addictions, financial, employment, transportation, food security and housing instability supports amongst other. Cooperates with other care providers, service deliverers, service consumers and community organizations working towards the coordination of effective servcie programs to meet the needs of the community. Services increase resident's awareness and understanding of the needs of vulnerable neighbours, enriching connections amongst St Mayrs community members and driving engagement with appropriate local resources. |
