| Description (Service) | Provides a range of services for those who are experiencing family law issues, specifically mediation services, including: Onsite Mediation Services: Two hours of complimentary mediation services to clients within the Family Court process. Offsite Mediation Services: Sliding-scale mediation services to clients who are not in the court system. Each party's fee is determined relative to their personal income and the number of dependents. Information (IRC) Services: Information & Referral Coordinator (IRC) services are provided in-person at the Owen Sound courthouse. IRCs offer support within the Family Law sector through maintaining up-to-date lists of programs and services within the community, providing resources on how to find family lawyers/paralegals/advice, distributing current publications, and by connecting clients with court staff. Mandatory Information Program (MIP) Booking and Dates: Mandatory Information Programs are a requirement of the courts when entering the Family Court system. This program ensures equal understanding of the effects of separation and divorce on adults and children and provides local resources and programs for families facing separation and/or divorce. The program also introduces participants to the Family court Process, family law matters, and provides alternatives to litigation. |
